The Money Conundrum
I've read online that a lot of people make positive transformations in their life, not only by making the choice to change but also by sharing their hopes/dreams and ambitions with others and (hopefully) feeding off the positive feedback they receive.
I've also read that the best way to make a change in your life is to commit to it by writing it down. I guess this blog is my attempt at meeting both requirements & I hope it will also help me as a place to journal my trials and tribulations along the way.
I started in my first post by referring to my weight loss goals and ambitions, but that's not the only change I want and need to make unfortunately.
Finances -
Now I'm nowhere in as much debt as others, however, I don't feel comfortable carrying this burden on top of myself and really want to get everything into the black. As my spouse hasn't really worked (some part time jobs infrequently) since the birth of my first kid (12+ yrs ago), all of the money burdens on my family are on me.
My partner is a bit of a shopper also - not just for herself it must be said ... she buys for me and the kids more than anything else, but she needs to spend & doesn't really believe in a budget which makes things somewhat difficult.
In addition to the spending there is the fact that we don't currently have any savings for my kids (2 of them) eventual University education and with the costs of this constantly rising - well we have to start somewhere I guess!
So what's the plan?
Well some of it is fairly obvious I'd think? Eat better, more exercise etc... for the weight loss part and start using some budgeting tools for Finance part. This (sharing with you) is somewhat new though and while I don't promise a daily update, I'll try to ensure that you're kept informed of any major changes as and when they happen.
